Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Taxentra collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We built Taxentra for tax professionals who handle sensitive information, so we take privacy seriously.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following:

Account information: your name, email address, optional firm name, and a securely hashed password. (We never store your password in plain text.)
Conversation content: the questions you submit and the analysis Taxentra generates, so you can revisit your work. Guest sessions are not saved.
Usage data: basic technical information such as request counts and timestamps, used to enforce plan limits and operate the service.
Billing information: if you subscribe, payment is processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We do not store your full card details on our servers.

2. Sensitive & Client Information

Please avoid submitting personally identifiable client information (names, Social Security numbers, account numbers, addresses) where it is not necessary for the analysis. You are responsible for ensuring that any information you submit complies with your professional confidentiality obligations and applicable law. Where possible, describe scenarios using anonymized facts.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide, operate, and improve the service;
Generate AI analysis in response to your queries;
Maintain your account, conversation history, and usage limits;
Process subscription payments;
Communicate with you about your account, security, and service updates;
Protect against fraud, abuse, and security threats.

4. AI Processing & Third-Party Subprocessors

To generate analysis, the content of your queries is transmitted to our AI model provider (Anthropic) solely to produce a response. We rely on the following key subprocessors:

Anthropic — AI model processing of query content.
Railway — application hosting and database storage.
Stripe — payment processing (for paid plans).

These providers process data under their own terms and security commitments. We do not sell your personal information or conversation content to anyone.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your data. We share information only: with the subprocessors listed above to operate the service; when required by law, subpoena, or valid legal process; to protect the rights, safety, and security of Taxentra and its users; or in connection with a business transfer (merger or acquisition), subject to this Policy.

6. Data Security

We protect your data using industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access controls, and authentication tokens. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your information and will notify affected users of any material breach as required by law.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account and conversation data for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual conversations at any time within the app. If you delete your account or request deletion, we will remove your personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law (for example, billing records).

8. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below. You can also delete conversations directly in the app, and you can choose to use guest mode, which does not save your conversations.

9. Children's Privacy

Taxentra is intended for tax professionals and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

10. International Users

Taxentra is operated in the United States and your data is processed there. If you access the service from outside the U.S., you consent to the transfer and processing of your data in the United States.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
